Life with a new baby can sometimes be hectic with having to adjust to your new role and the transition to parenthood. "Little Miracles" offers postnatal home visits to help and support you with whatever you feel you need or maybe you just need someone to talk to, or someone to mind your baby while you get some rest.
YOUR POSTNATAL HOME VISIT MAY INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

Medical, social and family history taking if not already done so antenatally

Listening to your story and concerns if present

Mother's postnatal check-up: vital signs, healing of the uterus, abdominal or perineal stitches if present, physical and mental wellbeing

Baby's postnatal check-up: general appearance, behavior, feeding, skin condition, cord condition, wet & dirty nappies, weight check if needed

Helping you with bathing your baby or any other baby care aspects

Baby's heel prick test (newborn screening)*

Showing techniques to help comfort and sooth your baby
-
Inform and assist you in carrying your baby in a sling
-
giving you a chance to take a nap, walk or shower while I mind your baby
-
providing you with community resources

advice on postnatal exercises
*Note on baby's heel prick test: the heel prick test is a newborn screening test that gets done when your baby is 4 to 5 days old. This test could be done in the hospital, by the PHN or your midwife. If your baby's heel prick test is due in the weekend or on a bank holiday, when PHN is not on duty, you will have to return to the hospital to get this test done. If you wish to avoid a journey back to the hospital with your newborn baby, please contact me, I may be available to do this test for you at home.
VIRTUAL POSTNATAL CONSULTATION
€100 for 60-90 min. video consultation. Including follow-up phone call 2 days after the appointment and a backup email with information and care plan.
For the video call I use a secure password-protected ZOOM video call.

INITIAL POSTNATAL CONSULTATION:
DURATION: 90 - 120 MIN. CAN BE BOOKED AS A ONCE-OFF SINGLE VISIT OR COULD BE PART OF AN ON-GOING CARE AND SUPPORT PACKAGE (see my midwifery care & support packages page)

EXTRA HOURS OF POSTNATAL HOME CARE CAN BE BOOKED IN ADDITION TO YOUR INITIAL CONSULTATION:

Note: I prioritize my availability for families who have pre-booked midwifery care and support packages,
​this leaves me with limited availability for "ad-hoc" calls. If needed I can refer you to other qualified Midwives / Doulas / Maternity Nurses.
